The Chatham Community Garden is located at the corner of Main Street (Route 28) and Lime Hill Road.
The garden is comprised of 26 plots; four plots are dedicated to produce food for the local food pantry, and the remaining 22 plots are for community members who wish to have a garden.
The project is being managed by a committee of volunteers with the assistance and support of the Lower Cape Outreach Council.
The Chatham Community Garden is designed to:
- Provide fresh produce for community members and the Chatham Food Pantry using organic methods;
- Create an opportunity for recreation and exercise for people of all ages;
- Contribute to the preservation of green space;
- Provide an opportunity for social interaction and inter-generational connections;
- Promote environmental awareness and education.
